Loud electric tricycles in the wash, where they’re not allowed. Caravans of non-license plated quads, dirt bikes, dune buggies (see above) and other assorted electric toys driving brazenly on County roads, where they’re not allowed.

Yes, it’s another holiday weekend in the outer wilds of Joshua Tree. And, no doubt, many other parts of the Morongo Basin.

It’s just past noon, and we’ve already made three four calls to the sweethearts at the San Bernardino County Sheriffs’ dispatcher office (760-366-3781) regarding separate incidents, as well as registering the incidents over at the essential Community ORV Watch.

It’s a great way to spend your New Year’s Day!
